October has been a busy month . . . Charley has gotten to meet many new friends and family! Since she was born, Charley has had an out of town guest (or gone on a trip herself) every week! Here are some of the visitors and trips . . .
Tutu and Auntie Malia come to visit!
Tutu and Malia spent a lot of time cuddling with Charley, but we did make it out of the house on some of the days. They were able to experience Cody's restaurant Frida Bistro for a tasty meal and we headed up to Park City to explore one of the days. Even though it was only early October, Charley got to experience her first snow in Park City! Crazy! Malia and Tutu got the worst weather unfortunately... the entire time they were here it was raining and storming and cold... just a few days before it had been 90 degrees and after they left it was back in the 80s. A pro mama herself, Malia gave me some tips on listening to Charley's cues for feeding and sleeping and since then I feel much more knowledgable in what she wants. Also, Tutu must of had the magic touch because she was able to get Charley to smile and smile! Auntie Malia also took an amazing photo shoot of Charley! I'll post those pics once I am able to download them...
Trip to Nebraska!
We went to Nebraska to celebrate Grandma Mary's 85th Birthday with all of Val's family! It was a pretty special weekend as everyone was there. Grandma Mary got to cuddle with Charley, everyone took turns fighting over holding Charley :), we had an awesome Birthday celebration for Grandma Mary and spent lots of time hanging out with everyone. Cody, Charley and I and the Geipel family even got to spend some time on Uncle Tom's awesome ranch & island property which is absolutely beautiful! We explored the ranch on "jeeps" that can go both on land and in water! At 5 weeks old, Charley was experiencing her first extreme adventure . . . and she pretty much slept through the entire thing! So much fun!

WWU Girls come to visit!
Aunties Stiner, Suz and Mary came to visit for a fast and fun weekend! It was so fun and amazing to have my college girlfriends here! Thank you ladies! Generally when we all get together we usually don't make if far from the house . . . the time always seems to fly as we sit and talk and talk . . . but this trip we actually made it out multiple times. The girls got to experience Cody's restaurant Frida Bistro one night - do you notice a theme? :) - and on Saturday, we got out of the house after a slow morning for a quick hike up Emigration canyon. While the boys went out Saturday night to the Real Soccer game, my friend Mckell and her 3 1/2 mth old daughter Lyla came over for a girls night in of eating Anne's tasty enchiladas, chatting and attempting a game of Empire Builder - since the first 5 moves took over an hour, this game didn't last very long! :)

Charley just turned 6 weeks this last Sunday and I feel like she has changed a ton in this week! She is way more alert... staying up during the day for an hour or two multiple times through the day. When she is awake she is making eye contact more, smiling more and trying to communicate with us. On Sunday, Cody and I heard her laugh for the first time! It was just a tiny little giggle but still super cute :) And she seems to have found her hands... she'll spend a lot of her awake time just staring and sucking at them. She is also a strong girl... already holding up her neck for chunks of time and using her legs to push against us.
I start back at work on Monday part time and Cody gets to spend the days with her while I am away. I'm excited for them to have some daddy-daughter time but not too excited to be away from her for hours already :) This time has gone way too fast!
